TECHNICAL KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER

For one of our clients, a large international company based in West Africa specialized in the mining  field, we are looking for an account manager (business manager).

Purpose of the work 

As a Key Account Manager, you will be required to maintain an existing customer base and grow  existing customers to their full revenue potential. Also, as a key account manager you will be  expected to be able to:

  • Maintain and maintain strong relationships with key customers that generate revenue for the business, use company resources to develop and implement strategic solutions to  achieve the long-term goals of key customers, gain a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements,
  • Expand relationships with existing customers by continually offering solutions that meet their goals.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Conduct sales activities via phone, email, and face-to-face interaction.
  • Monitor / Maintain more than one site in different locations depending on appointments;
  • Maintain, develop, and increase customer relationships with respect to current products as well as new « Lubrication / Lubrication » systems;
  • Liaise with the customer regarding the new manufactured item between the design team and the end use.
  • Design and implementation of new lubrication systems compared to mobile and stationary equipment;
  • Research, plan and carry out business for the client in accordance with company policy and This includes both developing new customers and retaining existing ones;
  • Visit customers on a weekly basis;
  • Prepare quotes for clients accurately and in a timely manner;
  • Assist in the establishment of sales budgets and ensure that they are consistently met and/or exceeded;
  • Initiate and coordinate the development of action plans to penetrate new markets/customers;
  • Process and assist customer complaints;
  • Sorting invoices for payment;
  • Responsible for the DSO with assigned customers;
  • Responsible for performance and staff development in on-siteworkshops.
  • Prepare action plans for an effective search for prospects and prospects;
  • Provide timely feedback to the Branch Manager regarding sales performance. Keep an accurate record of all prices, sales and activity reports submitted;
  • Keep abreast of competitors’ products and activities;
  • Train experienced employees on various design configurations;
  • Liaison with the customer and dissemination of customer requirements;
  • Systems planning with respect to the procurement and installation of various required lubrication systems;
  • Scheduling of project work.

Other main tasks  Common:

  • Update activity reports on a weekly basis;
  • Weekly scheduling of customer visits;
  • Participation in client meetings as required;
  • Follow-up of quotes, orders and new customers;
  • Update customer call sheets;
  • Open new accounts;
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and codes of business ethics and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team;
  • Any other functions that may be required by management from time to time to ensure effective and efficient service are provided to internal and external clients;
  • Participating in company inventories is mandatory for all employees.

Minimum entry requirements

  • Level license bac +3;
  • Proficiency in MS Office;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in sales and after-sales service in the hydraulic hose and fittings industry;
  • Project management;
  • Strong customer service skills are essential;

Communication

Excellent communication in English, verbal and written communication is  essential. All verbal and written communications must be of the highest quality at all times.  Written communication in the form of proposals and letters must be in accordance with  company policy.

Qualifications and competencies

  • Conduct sales activities via phone, email and face-to-face interaction;

  • Meticulous attention and attention to detail;
  • The employee must adhere at all times to the company’s and ISO’s policies and procedures;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and commit to meeting deadlines;
  • Good presentation;
  • Calmly handle customer complaints and issues;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be intuitive to the client’s business needs;
  • Ability to build relationships with clients, manage key accounts and be able to manage  conflicts with clients;
  • Strong work ethic;
  • Customer Service – the employee must demonstrate a total commitment to customer service in everything they do in the course of their work;
